Mission Statement:
Our mission is to stand with refugees and asylum seekers as they navigate displacement, trauma, and uncertainty—offering practical support and spiritual care in a welcoming, inclusive environment. Through this project, we aim to:
- Provide essential support, including food, clothing, and emergency assistance for newly arrived individuals and families;
- Offer a listening ear and emotional support, recognising the pain of loss, disconnection, and starting over;
- Facilitate access to language classes, legal aid, and integration opportunities, helping refugees find stability and confidence;
- Foster a sense of belonging and community, connecting newcomers with local families, volunteers, and mentors;
- Promote dignity and empowerment, not dependency—encouraging refugees to use their skills, voices, and experiences for good;
- Support the Nelson 2034 vision by building a community where no one is treated as an outsider—and where faith, justice, and mercy shape how we welcome and walk with the most vulnerable.
